it's the middle of october....geez

october 13 is here. wow. well, i haven't blogged in a while, and since i don't feel like doing homework just yet, i guess it's time to elaborate on all the things i said i'd write more a few months ago. where exactly do i begin, though?

ah yes, just checked my last blog from three weeks ago....so, what have i been up to since then? well, i'm still in school working my butt off, i'm still playing ultimate (wouldn't give that up for the world at this point), i go to reebok every thursday, and i'm still working on finding time to work this semester. i did go in yesterday (columbus day) for eight hours....yay for time-and-a-half. the red sox are in the alcs this week, and they return home for games three through five on friday. tonight, they played the yankees in the bronx and lost 10-7. it could have been worse, though, and their near-comeback makes me excited for game two at 8 p.m.....tonight. hee hee, that's funny, because it is wednesday already. other than the random appearance at work, things have been the same since i last wrote.

the latest, though: brute squad is going to nationals again! regionals took place this past weekend, and brute squad finished second to lady godiva. it was an amazing weekend with awesome ultimate, gorgeous fall weather, and lots of support from teammates and friends. nationals will be in sarasota, florida from october 28-31....and this time, i'm 21! we have two and a half more weeks to get ready for another opportunity to make a statement at nationals, and i think our team is much stronger this time around. exciting!

more of the latest: lori's at redlands this fall for her first semester of college, and she's playing volleyball. i haven't heard from her in a while, but at least it keeps her mind off of missing her boyfriend back home. i know that home is awesome and all, but seriously, if you don't make the most of your time away from home, you really won't appreciate all of it when you return for those winter and summer vacations. that's my random rant for the day.

another update (i guess i do have a lot to share): my dad and grandma are coming to boston in may for my graduation! the hotel rooms are booked (on my credit card), and they will be here from may 19-24, 2005. on the way home, we're going to las vegas for a couple of days, and then we'll be home just in time to see brad graduate from kamehameha. i don't plan to be home for good, so the job search begins as soon as i figure out what i want to do with my life after graduation....which should be soon. yeah, i'm graduating again....from college this time. geez.

i guess i should get to the gossipy-type stuff, since i've managed to stay away from blogging about it for a while now....besides school, ultimate, and the reebok internship, i manage to have a relationship. wow, does that sound so....unexciting. but it is. steve and i are still together, and it's still a work-in-progress. i don't mean that in a bad way; i'm just saying that things can be better between us, and we're working at it. i've realized why we're still together, and how important he is to me, and i'm trying to work on the little things that may not be as helpful to the relationship as they should be. in turn, though, i'm also trying to make him figure out the little things that he needs to improve on in our relationship as well. this time around has been a two-way relationship, rather than a one-way relationship (as it was in the past). i think things are good, and i hope that he agrees. we're there for each other when things get tough, and i know that being able to talk with him really makes my day. for me, it's all about the little things.

okay, so i've been multitasking since i started to blog, so i think i'm going to cut it here. i know i wanted to write about one more thing....oh, wait, here it is:

the ozone pilots had its first gathering on sunday evening after regionals. we had a really nice turnout for a three-day weekend, with a good number of veterans, returnees, and members of slow white. i teamed up with lindsey for beirut/beer pong (not sure which term to use here), and we lost to teddy and jake (slow white member/roger williams folk) by two cups. many of our rookies came to this gathering and phil and adrienne were in charge of discovering the gossip behind our newbies. after all was said and done, adrienne had a body pillow covering herself, and a few of the guys and girls swapped clothing. i did not partake in any of these festivities, but i was part of the contingent that took piper out for her 21st birthday. erin hyde and sean laing blessed us with their presence, and we managed to get to two bars before closing on sunday night. steve and i stayed with the group until they went to our house, and we attempted to return to hang out with the gang until we discovered that the party had been busted because of noise. thank goodness jasper and magnusson didn't get arrested again. so, we ran into the under-21 crowd in front of natalie's pizza in allston and walked back to campus with most of them. we arrived at adrienne's to hang out for a bit, but that didn't work as well as we thought, so it was time to call it a night. i'm really sorry that i didn't get to hang out with the gang more, but until i return from nationals, hanging out will be at a minimum.

okay, i think that's it for now. time for me to get back to....school stuff mixed with ultimate stuff.

go red sox, go!
