rain, rain go away

....come again another day, i want to surf in the sun today, rain rain go away!

lots of rain fell overnight on saturday and sunday. a lot of rain. yay for rain since we had a drought this summer.

i can't believe that yesterday was sunday. it's the second sunday i've been at home, and i have one more before it's time to return to boston. our sunday started like last sunday: we went to brunch at wai'alae and then dropped traci off at basketball clinic. then, dad and i went to costco in iwilei to pick up some food and supplies (and goodies for me to take back to boston....thanks dad), and then to oreck to get a new vacuum to clean our house.

when we got home, lori was washing one of the vans, so, it was time to do the monthly washing of the vans. i got lucky because my cousin called and we talked about college life for a half-hour. so, by the time i started to help, one van was already washed and polished. as soon as we finished cleaning the second van, it started to rain, and it was time to retreat indoors....and start cleaning before our new range arrived. the oven in the old stove broke, and my dad decided it was time to get a new range. so he did. then it was time to get ready for nikki's birthday party.

nikki turned five on saturday and she had her birthday party last night at pizza hut. following dinner, they went on a trolley ride downtown to see the christmas decorations and lights at honolulu hale. my aunty rented a trolley. one whole trolley for the birthday party. geez. since we were "too big" to fit on the trolley, we just went to dinner and then to the second night of the rainbow classic.

the second night of the tournament featured bowling green state university against fairfield university from connecticut, and american university against pepperdine university. fairfield beat bowling green and pepperdine routed american. tonight's championship bracket semifinals will have hawai'i playing iupui (indiana university-purdue university at indianapolis) and fairfield playing pepperdine. those should be some great games. we saw the end of the fairfield/bowling green game and stayed for the first half of the american/pepperdine game. the second game was pretty bad, so my dad didn't want to stay for the second half and we came home.

after we came home, we watched tv, and i dozed off soon after that. hooray for being a lazy bum. and as it follows, the first morning i don't have to wake up early, i did. at 8. so, i watched "dawson's creek" on tbs with miki for an hour. now, she's making fried rice for breakfast, and i'm almost done with the blog. miki wants a mocha frappucino from starbucks, so i'm going to walk over and get one for her. and then do a puzzle.

i hope the rain stops soon.

-me : )
