i hung out with krystal, ko, and sam tonight, and we had a good time. we walked around ward center, then through ala moana beach park, and looped back to ward center, where the cars were parked. as we walked, we talked about our busy lives and the random things that have happened in the last few months. i had a great time. i hadn't seen krystal since i visited in august, but we just had lunch, and it was a shorter period of time than tonight. it was fun to see ko tease krystal and krystal get him back with one of her witty comments....they reminded me of our high school days when we used to hang out together. they had their awkward moments, but now that it's all over, it's good to see that they are on good terms. it was just the fact that we hung out that made me happy tonight. we're so busy with our own lives now that it's hard to keep up when classes start because it's one more thing we have to worry about. it's times like these when there's no classes that we can truly enjoy ourselves. hooray for krystal, ko, and sam.
today was another beautiful day in hawai'i. the sun was out, the clouds were gone, the sky was blue....and i went to the beach. it was supposed to be family sunday and we were all going to go surfing out at wailupe. but when we discovered that there was no surf out there, lori and miki wanted to go to diamond head instead. my dad didn't want to go with us, which was unfortunate, so we dropped him off at home, and went to the beach. i wanted to surf today, but it was too windy at diamond head for me, so i sat on the beach, finished all i need to know i learned in kindergarten, a book krystal gave me a few years ago, and took a nap. i should mention that i did sleep until noon today; it was the first day i've slept in that late without a legitimate reason. weird. anywho, we were at the beach from 1 to 3:30, and then i took the siblings to get slurpees at 7-11 on the way home.
when we got home, my dad wanted us to take down the christmas tree and the lights we put up around our house. so, lori and miki took down the tree, and brad, traci, and i took down the lights and put them away. i played with our two dogs for a bit and then retreated, sunburned and tired, for a nice warm shower. yay for showers. i chatted online with steve for a bit, ate dinner, went to times with dad and miki to pick up some ice cream (of course), and cleaned the dishes and most of the kitchen. ko called around 8:30, and he picked me up a little before 9. we met up with krystal and sam at 9:15 or so, and we hung out until 12:15. we stayed together long enough to wish ko a happy 21st birthday, and then he brought me home.
tomorrow (or today, rather) krystal and sam (and maybe ko) and i might meet up for lunch. i do miss hanging out with my friends from home. and i'm a bit sad that 'umi and joanna aren't here. but i do know that one day, we'll hang out as we used to, and catch up on all the times we've missed in each other's lives. until that day comes, we'll continue to keep in touch.
okay, i think it's time for me to sleep. i've only been awake for 13 hours, but hey, i've only got two days left in this beautiful state, and i've got to make the most of it.
hooray for the sun.
