i can't believe i'm still in boston dealing with this weather. the temperature is 0, but with the wind chill, it feels like -18. craziness. it's colder than cold, and i'm still alive, so it's all good....i think.
my tuesday was....interesting. i went to history class at 9:30 (walked into the wrong classroom first), and then learned that the professor would not be here for the rest of the week. so, no history class tomorrow. hooray! after sitting in class and hearing the general announcements, tom and i went over to the gsu to kill time before tom's next class. when tom went to class at 11, i studied japanese for a bit, ate my sandwich, and returned to the student village to clean up before my dinner party. i cleaned for a bit, and then went to media law and ethics class. sounds like a crazy class, but i'll learn a lot. i went over to the souvenir store to check my schedule for the week, visited steve for a bit, returned to the apartment to cook and clean more, misplaced a few key items for the rice cooker (van found them a few minutes later), did some last-minute party shopping, and finally returned to the building for the night to get the party started. i warmed up the stew, cooked more rice, organized a bit, baked brownies, and then the guests started to arrive.
steve and phil were first to arrive. simon came next. the group of spoony, jono, and lisa followed. piper arrived soon after them, and kris rounded up the group. the beef stew was good, and everyone liked it. i also gave party favors, which included: a mug, two packets of green tea with mint, two packets of green tea with lemon, two packets of swiss miss hot cocoa, a party-size container of play-doh, and two of the animal-in-a-capsule things. simon dissolved one of those in his mouth. kind of crazy. but he had both of his computer science classes on that day, so he had a legitimate reason to be crazy. after dinner we watched the beginning of "austin powers: international man of mystery" and the guys started playing poker. piper started working on the fishy puzzle (she's really good at puzzles....must play puzzles with me more often), and lisa and i sat around and watched while kris filled out her schedule for the semester. nine o'clock rolled around and we watched "24". after 24 was over and the poker chips were put away, it was time for people to go home. piper and simon stayed to hang out a bit longer, and that's when he dissolved the capsule in his mouth. piper continued to be the puzzle genius that she is, and simon tried to help, but he's not spatially-oriented (neither am i). i think they left around 11:30. i brought out my japanese books to study a bit before cleaning up the place, and finally went to sleep around 1.
the dinner party was a good time because it was a small group of us just hanging out. there was lots of food, drinks, and fun, and that's what's important. i will start hanging out with the team more this semester because i have a good time. yay!
i woke up this morning at 5:30 and went to the gym with kris. my legs are a bit sore but i had a good workout. it was very very cold outside. we returned to the student village a little after 7, showered, and left for campus at 7:45. i got to sports journalism class and as soon as professor falla started to lecture, i started to doze off. and i'm still dozing off here right now at the computer.
it's 10:51 a.m., and i'm in oocs until 1. then it's lunch followed by japanese. and then my day is over and it'll be time for a nap before dinner with some of the brute squad. hooray.
i'm exhausted. i'm crazy. but i'm cool with that.
go me.
