my sinuses hurt. it's cold outside. right now, weather.com says that it feels like -19 degrees fahrenheit. i think i'm crazy for being here. and i'm working at the souvenir store at 9 a.m. it's going to be a long walk down commonwealth avenue.
hooray for fridays. today was the second day of winter orientation (also known as wo), and it didn't require much. i stayed in the office and worked on a project for summer recruitment, and did other tasks that i could do. after three hours of sleep, i couldn't do much, but i managed to take care of the important stuff: letter writing, phone calls, e-mails. no big worries. just a peaceful friday.
after work, i joined the wo crew and students for pizza in the small ballroom. yay for pizza. then we went to the bu hockey game. they played northeastern tonight and won 4-3 in overtime. bryan miller (#27) scored the winning goal a little over a minute into overtime. i had a lot of fun and it was good to see bu hockey win.
i did some of my grocery shopping after the game. i bought milk, yogurt, bread, cold cuts, and chicken thighs (for mochiko chicken). thank goodness the groceries weren't heavy or the walk home would have been a laborious one. when i got home, van was here with carol, so i chatted with them for a bit as i unpacked my groceries.
since then, i've been on the computer working on ultimate stuff and catching up on rec.sport.disc. i've also been checking the weather every hour, and it's not getting any warmer. i think i'm going to wear a lot of clothes to work in the morning. it's kinda scary knowing that i could possibly get frostbite or hypothermia by walking outside.
it was a nice day. too bad it was really cold.
adjusting to boston weather is a pain in the rear.
