three-day weekend

hooray for three-day weekends. especially after the first week of classes. hooray.

hmm....i guess i haven't blogged since wednesday night. weird. i thought i did before the weekend began, but i guess not. the short of it: i didn't have history on thursday morning, so i slept in a bit before going to the gym at 7:15. i took my time getting through my workout, talked with lisa (she was at work), came back to the apartment, took a nap, woke up at noon with just enough time to shower and get to media law and ethics. didn't do the reading i wanted to do. good thing i have time this weekend to do it. wait, i've been partying and hanging out all weekend....but i still have a day and a half to be productive. hooray.

we had our first track practice of the semester on thursday night. great practice. 20 ladies showed up (almost all of the team), and i think about 25 guys showed up. that was a lot of us. it was very encouraging. we'll see how many show up for the rest of the semester. that was thursday night.

friday morning, kris and i went to the gym, and erin and allison came. that was awesome. in the first week of being at the gym, five other lady pilots showed up. they rock. after the gym, we came back showered and walked down in the freezing cold to work. i worked at the souvenir store from 9 to 1:30, and came back to campus for japanese. that went well. i think i'm going to enjoy this semester a lot. hooray.

after class was over, i met up with steve and piper, and we came back to the apartment to play puzzle and hang out before meeting up with the gang for dinner at anna's and free movie night. it was a good way to unwind as the weekend began. after a few hours of puzzles, hot chocolate, and cookies, we met meghann, marion, erin, jess, lisa, spoony, jono, joe, and wayne, and headed over to anna's taqueria on beacon street. we had ourselves burritos, quesadillas, chips, and such and walked back to campus. we made a pit stop at dunkin' donuts for warm beverages before going to morse to get seats for "lost in translation" and "school of rock". those were really good movies. hooray. after movie night, i hung out with steve and phil (and mackenzie, claire, and chris stroh). the last four were playing poker. phil won $33. that is all.

i slept in on saturday. that was nice. woke up around 1:30, and ate lunch with steve and phil at warren. hooray for lazy saturdays. i came back to the apartment, read for a bit, listened to music, did laundry, and pumped myself up for the party. while i was reading, the stupid fire alarm went off in the building. i'm fortunate enough to have the room alarm right next to the door of my room, so it made very loud noises. quite annoying. anywho, i listened to some of my old school music from senior year of high school to see if anything would be decent enough to bring to the party....wow, i can't believe i listened to all of that stuff. i'm listening to the graduation cd i made for my high school classmates right now. nice to reminisce about that. piper, steve, simon, and i left campus around 9:00 to watertown for the party....we were the first "group" there. holzer beat us. crazy guy.

party was fantastic. one of the better parties i've been to in a long time. although this summer definitely had its share of super cool parties. kris throws an awesome party. yay for kris. i had myself some rum and cokes, and then when the rest of the gang came, we started a game of quarters (introduced by suzanna....it's called brooklyn). basically, we play quarters and drink non-stop. the game ends when someone pukes. word. our game of quarters ended at 11, when jess interrupted the party with her bid for high tide. that was awesome. she wrote lyrics to britney spears's song "oops i did it again" and changed it to "i want to go to high tide" (or something like that....i can't remember). really cool stuff. after the performance, andy fogel and i returned to our game of quarters. we modified it a bit by making it a two-person game. you make a quarter, the other person drinks. we had a round of 12 cups so the round ended after the 12 were done. it was a good time. more people came downstairs, so we started a flip cup game. girls versus guys. laura, rosie, claire, jac, and i played for the ladies, and although we came close to winning a number of times....we didn't. but we had a good time anyway. by that time, i reached my limit, and i started to take pictures of the team at the party. i probably did that earlier in the night, but i'm going to add that now because i was drunk and having a good time. i do remember hanging out in kris's room with ben (kris's roommate), dar, christina, and seth....good times all around. we were talking about random stuff (that i can't remember, of course), but i do remember passing off my unfinished drink to holzer and laurie (i think that was earlier than this, but i'm writing whatever i can remember, and whichever order it's being recalled). i walked upstairs to the bathroom a number of times and didn't fall down the stairs on the way back (that was good). but the last thing i remember doing at the party before leaving was dancing with christina and phil. hooray for dancing. we couldn't do more dancing because we were making a lot of noise and kris's landlord came over a number of times to tell us to turn it down. our bad. the bulk of the team left at 1:30 to get the last bus to campus from watertown yard. we traveled with the not-puking part of the group....the others stayed for a bit and drove back later with a stop at ihop. word. i was drunk and stayed at steve and phil's. i didn't want to chance falling up the stairs to the student village. i think i fell asleep around 2:30.

woke up today around 11:30 and steve wasn't doing so well. had a good mix of gin, tequila, and beer to upset his stomach. we talked with phil for a bit about the party, and then phil and i met up with lisa, christine, jono, tom, adrienne, seth at towers for brunch. hooray for food. i saw anne fecko there, and she joined us at our table. she had a fun night as well. hooray for weekends. after brunch, we went to the gsu to watch the patriots play the colts. patriots won 24-14. they're playing in the superbowl in two weeks. hooray.

....and that's my weekend.

now it's time to hit the books, watch a little more football, listen to some music, talk with friends, and do what i would normally do on sundays. maybe even watch a movie. hmm....ocean's eleven sounds really good right now. but i'll have to do some work before that can happen.

random note: i talked with lori while i watched the football game this afternoon. seems that she doesn't like paddling anymore. so many issues. i feel so sorry for her because she was looking forward to it during volleyball season, and now, well, she's over it. the more i talk with her, the more our relationship improves. she needs someone to bitch to, and i'm glad that she's okay talking with me. hopefully she'll visit in march. i think she needs it, and besides, we'll have a good time. she'll get to meet my friends and hang out in a city that she'll never visit otherwise. i'm excited. i also talked with ko (i left him a drunk voicemail last night....he appreciated it). we'll probably catch up later tonight. hooray for friends.

i just wrote a lot in a very short time. hooray for me. it's almost 8:15, so i think i'm going to watch the rest of the football game and then get to my homework and other stuff.

ozone pilots know how to party.

-me : )
